In my January newsletter, I declared that 2014 is the "Year of the Relationship." In that spirit, I have decided to dedicate this month’s edition to the skills of great coaches. This newsletter contains some new thoughts on how great coaches coach in my lead article "Coaching Not Telling – Part 2," which is a follow-up to an article from last March. I was thinking about this topic as I developed my newest Sales Culture Workshop™ of the same name and wanted to share some more thoughts with you. (The workshop is just being rolled out, and it has been very well received!) Also, in my blog I share my thoughts on the behaviors of the greatest coaches I have worked with – and there have been a few! I hope you enjoy both articles. As always, please let me know what you think by adding your thoughts to the blog.

Coaching, NOT Telling – Part 2

Last March, I wrote an article on "Coaching, not telling," and I have some new thoughts on this topic that I’d like to share with you. After all, we are all coaches in some fashion. Coaching a fine form of selling, but when you have the opportunity to help someone by coaching, do you respond by telling or by coaching him or her?
